COOKIE POLICY (Plutoos.ch)
Last updated: 13 November 2025
1. Who we are
1.1 Plutoos.ch is operated by Plutoos – New Neptune GmbH, Ringstrasse 1, 8603 Schwerzenbach, Switzerland.
1.2 Contact: info@plutoos.ch (no reception on site).
2. Scope and relation to our Privacy Policy
2.1 This Cookie Policy explains how we use cookies and similar technologies on Plutoos.ch.
2.2 For information about how we process personal data (purposes, retention, your rights), please see our Privacy Policy.
3. What cookies and similar technologies are
3.1 Cookies are small files stored on your device to make websites work, keep you logged in, remember your basket, or help us understand how the site is used.
3.2 Similar technologies include local storage, tags, pixels, SDKs, and Captcha tools used to protect the site against abuse.
3.3 Cookies can be first-party (set by Plutoos.ch) or third-party (set by another provider), and can be session (deleted when you close your browser) or persistent (remain for a defined period).
4. Legal basis and your choices
4.1 Switzerland (FADP + TCA art. 45c):
- a) We inform you about the purposes of cookies.
- b) For non-essential cookies, you always have a right to refuse via the Cookie settings control.
- c) If a use is unusually intrusive or relates to advertising/remarketing, we may ask for your consent (opt-in) before activating those cookies.
4.2 Liechtenstein / EEA users: Non-essential cookies (e.g., Marketing) generally require opt-in consent before activation. Our banner and “Cookie settings” controls reflect this.
4.3 Your choices at any time: Choose Only necessary, Allow all, or Customize categories, and change your choice anytime via Cookie settings (footer). You can also block/delete cookies in your browser; blocking necessary cookies may impair basic shop functions.
5. Cookie categories we use
5.1 Strictly necessary (always on): Provide core functions such as session and basket, load basic scripts, store your consent choices, and protect the site with security tools like reCAPTCHA. These do not require consent.
5.2 Analytics (optional): Privacy-friendly measurement (e.g., Google Analytics 4 without ads features) to understand and improve site performance. You can refuse these.
5.3 Marketing (optional): Advertising/remarketing tags. These are off by default for EEA/LI users and may require opt-in. In Switzerland, they are only activated if you enable Marketing in Cookie settings.
6. Providers we use (overview)
6.1 Plutoos (first-party): Session/basket, language preference, consent storage.
6.2 Google Tag Manager (GTM): Manages and loads scripts. GTM itself doesn’t create user profiles; it loads other tools according to your settings.
6.3 Google reCAPTCHA v3 (security, necessary): Helps distinguish humans from bots to protect forms and checkout.
6.4 Google Analytics 4 (analytics, optional):
- a) Used for aggregated, privacy-friendly statistics.
- b) We keep Google Signals (ads features) OFF and GA4 does not store IP addresses.
- c) Data retention is limited (typically 2–14 months) and periodically reviewed.
6.5 (If applicable) Marketing tags (optional): Google Ads/other ad networks (only if enabled by you in Cookie settings).
Note: We do not use Facebook Social Plugins. If this changes, we will update this policy before activation.
7. International transfers
7.1 Some providers (e.g., Google LLC) may process data in the United States.
7.2 Where applicable, transfers rely on recognised safeguards such as the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (DPF) and/or Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs).
7.3 Details are available in the provider’s documentation and in our Privacy Policy.
8. How you can manage cookies
8.1 Cookie banner & settings: On your first visit (and thereafter via the footer link), use Cookie settings to select Only necessary, Allow all, or Customize by category.
8.2 Withdraw or change choices: Change your settings at any time via the Cookie settings link in the footer.
8.3 Browser settings: Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies. Blocking necessary cookies may affect core functions (e.g., basket, checkout).
9. Cookie lifetimes
9.1 Session cookies: Deleted when you close your browser.
9.2 Persistent cookies: Remain for a defined period (see examples below); we review periods regularly.
