The Plutoos T6710 maintenance box (ink maintenance tank, OEM reference Epson C13T671000) is a compatible waste-ink reservoir for Epson inkjet printers. It absorbs the residual ink released during the printer's automatic head-cleaning cycle and replaces the factory-fitted maintenance box as soon as the printer reports "Maintenance box near end of life" or "Maintenance box at end of life".
Suitable for the Epson WorkForce Pro WP-4000 series as well as the WP-4500 series, WF-4630/4640, WF-5110/5620/5690 and the WF-R5190 / WF-R5690 RIPS units. 1. What is a maintenance box and what does it do?
A maintenance box is not a part that prints — it is a waste-ink reservoir. During the printer's automatic head-cleaning cycle some ink is flushed out; the maintenance box absorbs this residual ink. Without a working box the printer locks the print operation.
2. When do I need to replace the maintenance box?
Have a spare ready as soon as the printer shows "Maintenance box near end of life". By the time the message reads "Maintenance box at end of life" you must replace it, otherwise the printer refuses to print.
3. How do I replace the maintenance box?
The printer walks you through the replacement: open the cover, gently pull out the old box (best inside a bag to catch any drips), insert the new Plutoos T6710 until it clicks, close the cover. The printer detects the new box and resets the counter.
