Washing the filter

Rinse the filter monthly under cold running water — no soap, no brush, no detergent. Washing rinses out the fine dust that clogs the layers between changes.

Drying — the step people rush

Let the filter air-dry for at least 24 hours, better 48, before it goes back into the vacuum. A filter that is still damp can damage the motor — give it the full drying time.

When to replace

The recommended change is every 3–6 months. If the filter stays grey after washing or suction keeps fading, its layers are saturated — depending on use that point comes after 6–12 months.

Troubleshooting

Suction still weak right after the filter change	Take the filter out and refit it until it audibly clicks or sits firmly — a filter that is not fully seated lets air slip past it. Empty the bin or container as well.
Dusty or damp smell after washing	The filter went back in before it was fully dry. Take it out and give it the full 24–48 hours of air-drying — a damp filter can also damage the motor.
