Installation & first use

• Unpack the toner only right before installing it.
• Gently rock the cartridge horizontally 5–6 times so the toner powder spreads evenly.
• Remove the protective seal or strip.
• For the set, install the drum unit first, then click the toner cartridge into the drum (depending on the model the toner slides into the drum).
• Insert the cartridge until it clicks.
• ⚠️ Caution: never touch the green drum roller — fingerprints and scratches cause permanent print defects.
• Confirm the non-original supplies notice with OK — this is normal, printing continues normally.
• Finally, print a test page.

Care & storage

• Store cool, dry and dark — protected from direct sunlight and heat sources.
• Never touch the drum surface and never expose it to direct light.
• Store the cartridge lying flat in its original protective bag.
• Once opened, use the cartridge up rather than storing it — opened toner cartridges attract moisture.
• Recycling: Return empty toner cartridges to us free of charge, hand them in at any electronics store (e.g. Media Markt, Fust or Interdiscount) or dispose of them at a recycling centre.

Good to know

• “Toner low” message: often appears too early. Remove the cartridge, rock it gently again and keep printing — it often lasts many more pages.
• Toner vs. drum: two different consumables — the toner cartridge holds the powder, the drum unit transfers the image to paper. Each has its own lifespan.
• Page yield: ISO figure at approx. 5% coverage — with graphics or photos the real-world figure is correspondingly lower.
• Firmware updates: printer manufacturers occasionally ship updates that restrict recognition of non-original cartridges — compatible cartridges work most reliably with automatic firmware updates switched off.
• High-yield version: this cartridge is the family's large fill — same dimensions as the standard version, noticeably more pages per franc.
